Denver's own Burlesque As It Was has been shimmying and shimmering
on stages from San Diego to New York City since 1998 when they emerged
as one of the first Neo-Burlesque Troupes, and they are still considered to
be one of the preeminent and most influential burlesque groups performing
today. Over the last 10 years the Burlesque As It Was productions have
become highly anticipated Denver events, bringing out those who remember
the golden age of burlesque and those who just wish they could.

Their show is “Tips for Tassels:  Gorgeous Go-Go Girls Dance For Tips”
all to be donated to the Burlesque Hall of Fame; a very special edition of
The Shimmy Shaker Show!  Hosted by Big Mama Red, the show features
Fannie Spankings, Ruby Derringer, Adrienne from Oracle Dance
as well as troupe regulars Charlie Champale (crowned Mr. Exotic World 2007)
and their fearless leader, Vivienne VaVoom,
(who is competing this year for the Miss Exotic World title).

A versatile vixen of the classic ecdysiasts art, Vivienne VaVoom can
generally be found bumping and grinding a mile high in her hometown
of Denver. She has performed at various venues around the country
and at the Big Three: Miss Exotic World, Tease-O-Rama and
the New York Burlesque Fest. Next year she celebrates 10 years of
shimmying with the troupe she founded, Burlesque As It Was.

Her alter ego, Michelle Baldwin, wrote THE book on the neo-burlesque
scene, Burlesque and the The New Bump & Grind.
